A Love of Reading...

Thanks to parents who both loved to read, as I was growing up, I was introduced to a love of reading that has stuck with me through the years. For me, reading became a life-long habit of continued enjoyment.

I have always haunted libraries, bought personal copies of books, and both borrowed and loaned books from and to friends. My "study" (my term for it; my wife has her opinions about what we should call it) is jammed-pack with books, yet I am always acquring more.

Guess what I got for my birthday, less than a week ago? Did you guess a Kindle? If so, you're right. And I can't put the Amazon Kindle down except for a few things like driving, showering, sleeping, being with our soon-to-be-six-years-old grandson, and spending time with the rest of the family. Oh yes, and blogging. Retirement allows time for these as well as other activities.

Fortunately, some time ago, I married a woman who loves to read and today we share that blissful recreation frequently; sometimes we do it independently. We both wear out our library cards, and keep Amazon.com as a budget item.

We both have a love of reading. Our grandson appears headed in the same direction.
